My approach
Do you ever wish you could push the pause button on life? I view therapy as an invitation to do just that. To give a meaningful space to notice, reflect, and create what you want in your life, and more importantly to be YOU.
There is so much power in pausing because it allows us the chance to notice what is going on within ourselves, within our relationships, and to explore our true hopes and dreams. In taking a pause, it can open up so much opportunity to grow and heal.
Maybe you feel like life is moving way too fast and you are jumping from one thing to the next without time to catch your breath…. and it is overwhelming.
Or maybe you feel like you are moving through life in auto-pilot mode, stuck in the same rut day after day…. and it needs to change.
Wherever you happen to be in your journey right now, let’s begin to push that pause button, quiet the noise, and forge a path that works for you. I’m here to support and encourage you, give space to look inward, hold you accountable along the way, and to ALWAYS do so with grace and compassion. So let’s get to work. Bring it all, because this is a judgement-free zone!
Therapy Style
I specialize in working through trauma and self-limiting beliefs so you can live a life with more peace and ease. I frequently use EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing) because I have found it to be effective in working through trauma in a way that traditional talk therapy can’t match.
Due to the fast-paced nature of our world, our nervous system can feel like it’s in a constant state of stress and chaos. It’s usually not enough to just tell ourselves to “calm down” because the body is interpretting threats all around it. I utilize evidence based practices to help support and regulate the nervous system through polyvagal interventions
I am well-versed in a variety of different therapy styles, which allows us the flexibility to tailor our sessions to best meet your needs and goals. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Emotionally-focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I frequently use mindfulness, self-compassion practices, and place an emphasis on post-traumatic growth and resiliency.
Additionally, I specialize in treating insomnia using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to regain our natural rhythms for sleep. Insomnia can be completely debilitating and can impact all areas of our life. CBT-I treatment goes beyond basic sleep hygiene and develops a personalized treatment plan that focuses on three main areas: building sleep drive, working with your circadian rhythm, and reducing anxiety and stress associated with sleep.
